A group of long-range Tu-22M3 bombers was relocated from the airbase Shaykovka to the airbase Tolmachyovo in Novosibirsk to participate in the joint exercise ‘Dushanbe-Anti-Terror-2017’ with the main stage on 1 July.
According to the plan, paired aircraft will strike at imaginary illegal armed formations in the mountain Kharb-Maydon range (15 km from the Tajik-Afghan border).
The Russian side sent about 2,000 servicemen and more than 300 units of military hardware, including 30 aircraft and helicopters, to the joint exercise ‘Dushanbe-Antiterror’ coordinated by the CIS Antiterrorist Centre.
