Pilots of MiG-31 fighters practiced intercepting a target over Kamchatka

In course of combat training, pilots of the Pacific Fleet naval aviation practiced intercepting an aircraft of conditional enemy in the airspace of Russia.

The pilots took off, moved to the assigned area, and practiced detecting and eliminating the air target. Coordinates of the target were received from air defence systems.

The pilots had to operate in low levels of the stratosphere at the speed of 2,100 km/h in order to intercept the target.

The Kamchatka fighter formation has been the best aviation squadron of the Russian Navy for the last three years.
