The developer and manufacturer of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft, the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company, has successfully completed certification work at the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for the new B100 aircraft model, the press service of the SCAC reports.
Model B100 differs from the basic version of the aircraft installation of the engine family SaM-146 with increased takeoff thrust, which is also used on the SSJ100 aircraft with increased range.
The main characteristics of the SSJ100 B100, the certified model RRJ-95B-100, are: the flight range is 3048 km with estimated commercial load under standard atmosphere conditions, the maximum take-off weight is 45880 kg, the maximum take-off thrust of the engine is 8055 kgs. However take-off distance reduced by 10% with a basic version.
Certification of the B100 model is another milestone in the expansion of the operating conditions of the Sukhoi Superjet 100. The increased thrust of the engine improves the takeoff characteristics of the aircraft, giving new opportunities to the airline operators. Such characteristics of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 can be of interest to customers from Western Europe to fly from short runways, including airports located within the city.
In addition, B100 may also be interested in potential customers from BRICS regions, for which the important condition for making a decision in favor of SSJ100 is the possibility of its commercial operation on high-altitude aerodromes. The increased take-off thrust of the new model solves this problem.
Certification of the new model in EASA allows to supply B100 to European airlines, as well as to customers on other continents. Earlier, in December 2015, this model of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 was certified in Russia.
Thus, the company Sukhoi Civil Aircraft expands its product range, offering the market in addition to the existing aircraft models that differ in takeoff weight and range, the third - with improved take-off characteristics.
