Somon Air: there is no panic at Khujand International Airport because of cancellation of flights to Moscow

There is no any panic related with the cancellation of Somon Air’s flights en route Khujand, Tajikistan– Moscow, Russia, CAAN Asia writes.

All the passengers were notified by the call center specialists, the funds spent for air tickets bought were returned in full, according to Somon Air.

“Thanks to the call center’s concerted actions, almost all the passengers who were supposed to fly to Moscow by the nearest flights were notified in advance of the situation created by the cancellation of these flights”, Jurab Sadykov, Spokesperson in Khujand, Somon Air, told Asia Plus News Agency, Tajikistan.

According to him, experts of the call center rang all the passengers, as far as possible, and apologized for the inconvenience.

 “We offered two options at the passengers’ request: whether return funds in full for the air ticket at the place of purchase or transfer to the nearest flight of our air company. Over 40% of our passengers have changed their air tickets for the coming flights”, Mr. Sadykov said.

The Spokesperson of Somon Air hopes that the issue with the Somon Air’s flights will be resolved positively in the coming days.

Uktam Habilov, Spokesperson, Tajik Air, said in a telephone conversation with Asia Plus that the measures taken by the Russian side did not affect the flights operated by Tajik Air.

In particular, Mr. Khabilov said, “We continue working in the regular mode. We operate four flights per week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Because of the situation with Somon Air, the number of those wishing to fly to Moscow has increased dramatically. Therefore, we do not have the opportunity to send all comers. We have four air tickets left for the flight on Thursday, 40 tickets for Saturday’s flight , and 60 seats are available for the flight to be operated on Sunday. And the tickets are sold in a matter of hours”.

The number of those wishing to fly to Moscowfrom Khujand can increase by several times. Tajik aviation authorities plan to ban three flights of UTair Airlines, Russia, to Khujand since tomorrow, April 6, 2017.
