In course of the first stage of the joint Russia-Belarus exercise, a unit of the Russian airborne troops was detached to a parachute battalion of the Vitebsk Airborne brigade. After receiving the order, the paratroopers conducted a 40-kilometer march to the Liozno administrative area.

Having arrived in the assigned area, the servicemen of two countries blocked and eliminated conditional illegal armed groups.

About 1,000 servicemen and more than 200 pieces of military and special hardware are involved in the exercise.

Main stage of the exercise will be held until April 6.
