First stage of the Aviadarts 2017 contest started in military units of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
More than 200 crews of tactic, long-range, transport and army aviation of the Aerospace Forces will participate in the contest. Over 160 pieces of aviation hardware will be involved. The contest is held at 13 ranges all-round Russia.
Pilots are to penetrate air defence system, conduct air reconnaissance, perform aerobatics as well as engage targets.
The contest stage will last until March 20.
