Large-scale interservice command-and-staff counter-terrorist exercises started in the Eastern MD. The main stage of the exercises is held in the Sakhalin region.
Units of the Eastern MD combined-arms formation, helicopters of the Eastern MD, and an Airborne unit are taking part in the exercises.
Special attention will be paid to issues of improving cooperation between security agencies of the Sakhalin region in course of the special operation.
The exercises will last until February 11. More than 2,000 servicemen and about 500 pieces of military hardware are involved in the command-and-staff exercises.
