Pacific Fleet Commander checked combat readiness of the Air Defence Alert Force on Kamchatka

In the course of the inspection of the Air Defence Alert Force of the Pacific Fleet, the Commander of the Fleet Admiral Sergei Avakyants estimated its readiness for defence of the air and sea borders of the Kamchatka Krai. Particular attention was paid to alarm activities of an air wing.

Crews of naval aviation practiced interception and destruction of air targets, carried out searching of simulated enemy submarines. Air Defence units repelled simulated missile and air strikes, conducted trainings on detection and identification of targets at low and extra-low altitudes.

The unannounced inspection involved crews of MiG-31, Il-38 and Ka-27PL aircraft of the Pacific Fleet naval aviation as well as Air Defence units and formations.
