Russian Emergencies Ministry sends 40 tons of humanitarian goods to Tajikistan

By the order of the Russian President, the Russian Emergencies Ministry sends relief goods to Tajikistan.

In the morning of 25 February, the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s Ilyushin Il-76 plane loaded with the most necessary goods took off from Ramenskoye Airfield to Dushanbe. The cargo includes such goods as foods, tents, clothes, as well as mobile power generator.

Tajikistan has requested help from the international community due to emergency situation caused by avalanches on the north and east of the country. The avalanches caused major damage to economical facilities, infrastructure, dozens of settlements got cut off, there are human victims.

The agreement on cooperation in the field of civil defence, prevention and mitigation of emergency situations between the Russian and Tajik Governments acts since 1997.
