Six russian Tu-22M3 long-haul bombers hit terrorist targets in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor

Six Russian Tu-22M3 long-haul bombers delivered an airstrike on Islamic State (a terrorist organization outlawed in Russia) targets in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor, the Russian defense ministry said on Tuesday. This reported by TASS.

"Today, six Tu-22M3 long-haul bombers that took off from an airfield in Russia delivered an airstrike on Islamic State terrorists’ targets near the settlement of Al-Sayal in the province of Deir ez-Zor," the ministry said. "All the targets were destroyed."

The airstrike helped break down terrorists’ resistance near Al Sayal and ensured serious advance of the Syrian army along the entire frontline, the ministry added.

The Syrian government troops backed by Russian warplanes are about to finish extermination of the last enclave of Islamic State militants in eastern Syria, which has shrunk to an area of seven by 11 kilometers. 

"Syrian government troops backed by the Russian aerospace troops’ task force are finishing to exterminate the last Islamic State enclave in eastern Syria, which has shrunk to an area of seven by 11 kilometers," the ministry said.
