In December this year, Russian airlines carried more than 7.6 million passengers, up 15% year-over-year (YOY).

In total, following the results of 2017, domestic carriers serviced 105 million passengers, the press service of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) reported.

"This year we overcame the historic maximum and crossed the edge into 100 million passengers. Also two-thirds of the total volume of passenger traffic in 2017 was implemented on domestic routes. This is a very good indicator, which we plan to increase by developing the capacity of airports in the Far East and the Far North", Head of the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko said.

"For Rosaviatsia, this is a priority task in the short and medium term", the official said.
