In 2017, the long-range air force performed 100 % of flying time, combat training and combat application.
The total flying time has amounted to more than 20,000 hours. The flying time per a crew averages over 120 hours.
During the year, the Long-Range Air Force crews took an active part in the Zapad 2017, Combat Commonwealth 2017 CSTO CRRF exercises in the Republic of Tajikistan, Aviadarts-2017 Aviation Competition on the territory of the People's Republic of China, Army 2017 International Military Technical Forum and other events.
"This year, for the first time the Tu-22M3 planes worked out landing at the northern airfields of Anadyr and Vorkuta within the framework of flight and tactical exercises. For the first time, long-range bombers carried out tasks in the Bering Sea," said Lieutenant General Sergei Kobylash, Commander of the Long-Range Air Force.
In December 2017, the Tu-95MS strategic bombers landed at the airfield Biak of the Republic of Indonesia.
In the 2018 training year, the Long-Range Air Force will continue to take an active part in all operational and combat training activities, both under the plan of the Long-Range Aviation Commander and higher-level military control bodies.
