EgyptAir and Russia will resume talks regarding the potential sale of SSJ100 aircraft against the background of the possible opening flights between the two countries, said to journalists Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov after meeting with Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
"I thanked Mr. el-Sisi for the fact that they recognised the SSJ100 certificate. We will certainly resume the negotiation process. We have identified not only the SSJ but also the MC-21 because their capacity is growing. The negotiation process for the aircraft always takes time, but I have the confidence that we will find an interesting solution", minister noted.
According to the Ministry, the agreement on the supply of Komsomolsk-on-Amur airplanes and new MC-21 aircraft began to be discussed again after the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Egypt.
Earlier, Russia’s Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov said that the flights between Moscow and Egypt could be renewed in February 2018.
