Russian Tu-22M3 bombers taking part in Syrian operation return to home bases in Irkutsk region

Crews of Tu-22M3 long-range bombers arrived in the Irkutsk region from North Ossetia airfield after performing tasks on eliminating terrorists in the Syrian Arab Republic.

Chief of combat training department of long-range, military-transport, and special aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces Major General Alexander Tsylyev, representatives of the Yunarmiya movement, veterans, and relatives met the pilots.

On December 11, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, ordered the withdrawal of troops.
