The Pacific Fleet's Naval Aviation crews practised piloting during detection, interception and air combat against the simulated enemy’s aircraft.

During the flight series, pilots carried out about 30 sorties. In the air, fighters-interceptors at supersonic speeds alternately worked out joint tasks to intercept “enemy” aircraft at long ranges and maximum altitudes.

Also, when in flights, pilots worked out elements of manoeuvring with large angles of roll and pitch, conducted air battles with extreme parameters of the sighting complex and worked out approaches to landing at night, guiding with instruments.
