Emergency Ministry’s flying hospital carries out medical evacuation of seriously ill from Grozny and Rostov-on-Don to Moscow and St. Petersburg

A Sukhoi Superjet 100 owned by the Russian Emergency Ministry has taken off today from Vnukovo Airport to carry out medical evacuation of four seriously-ill children from the cities of Grozny and Rostov-on-Don to the cities of Saint Petersburg and Moscow.

All the patients are in need of urgent highly-qualified and high-tech medical aid.

The flying hospital is rigged with modern equipment and special medical modules, ventilators and cardiac monitors allowing providing medical care aboard.

During the flight the patients are going to be accompanied by medical specialists of the Emergency Ministry’s Tsentrospas Team, All-Russian Disaster Medicine Center Zashchita of the Healthcare Ministry and a psychologist of the Center for Emergency Psychological Aid.

Upon arrival in Moscow, one of the children is going to be transported to the Moscow Health Department’s Morozov Children’s Clinical Hospital, while three others will be delivered to the Almazov National Medical Research Center in Saint Petersburg.
