Angosat SC is being processed for launch November 24, 2017

The work continues to prepare for launch from the Baikonur launch site the Angosat spacecraft built by RSC Energia (a part of State Corporation Roscosmos) under a contract with the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Angola. The spacecraft is designed to provide communications and TV broadcast coverage on the territory of the Republic of Angola, as well as the entire African continent.

The work is being performed by specialists from Energia Corporation and other contractor companies.

A post-shipment check of the Lithium-ion storage batteries of the spacecraft is finished, and final operations with the launch vehicle Zenit-2 after electrical checkout have been completed. In addition to this, pass-through electrical circuits have been checked. Also completed is work on the upper stage Fregat-SB to resolve non-conformances in the fuel line.

The launch of the Angosat spacecraft is scheduled for December 26, 2017.
