An Emergency Ministry’s Ilyushin Il-76 has taken off today from Zhukovsky Airport to carry out a medical evacuation of 13 seriously-ill people including 10 children from the cities of Simferopol and Rostov-on-Don and transport them to Saint Petersburg and Moscow.
The flying hospital is rigged with modern equipment and special medical modules, a ventilator and cardiac monitors allowing providing medical care aboard.
During the flight the patients are going to be accompanied by medical specialists of the Emergency Ministry’s Tsentrospas Team, All-Russian Disaster Medicine Center Zashchita of the Healthcare Ministry and a psychologist of the Center for Emergency Psychological Aid.
Three of the patients including 2 children are going to be transported to hospitals in Saint Petersburg, the other 10, 8 of whom are children are going to be flown to Moscow.
