The Russian Emergency Ministry has coordinated with Norwegian colleagues a SAR plan at a Russian Mil Mi-8 helicopter crash site near Spitsbergen. The parties agreed that Norway would provide a heavy ship to recover the wreckage from the sea bottom.

Russian Emergency Ministry’s rescuers and their Norwegian colleagues keep on working round the clock in the Greenland Sea using remote-control mini submarines and examining the shoreline.

The Russian Minister for Emergency Situations has ordered that the operation should not stop.

More than 40 Russian rescuers are working at the crash site.
