Airborne operation involving over 2,500 paratroopers took place in the Ulyanovsk and Kostroma regions. The action took place in course of main stage of the military transport aviation exercise.
The operation is to last for two days in two regions.
After landing, the troops practised taking under control an airfield blocked by an illegal armed formation.
In total, 20 Il-76 transport aircraft were involved in the actions held in the Ulyanovsk region.
