In course of the main stage of the Russian Airborne and Aerospace Forces exercise, transport aircraft dropped over 2,500 troops in the Ulyanovsk region.
Before the airborne operation, Su-34 bombers hit targets, which imitated combat vehicles and manpower of the simulated enemy.
Military transport aircraft have conducted such large-scale operation for the first time.
The exercise was held in course of summer training period examination.
