Sheremetyevo has been awarded for the first place in Europe in the 25-40 million-passenger category by ASQ ACI

Sheremetyevo International Airport won the world best airport ASQ award in service quality in the category of 25-40 million passengers per year by the end of 2016. The 27th ACI Africa/World Annual General Assembly, Conference and Exhibition was held in Port Louis, Mauritius.

The Prime Minister of Mauritius, The Honourable Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, President of the Council ICAO Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu Olumuiva Benard Aliou and Director General, ACI World Angela Gittens, attended the event.

Member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Strategy and Development Committee of the Board of Directors of Sheremetyevo International Airport Ilya Petrov received an award on behalf of Sheremetyevo during the ceremony.

“The Airport Service Quality award is very significant for us. Thanks to your assessment, we are convinced in the effectiveness of our development strategy. The strategy is based on constant development of infrastructure for the growing passenger and freight traffic, as well as the systematic development of the service quality to our passengers and customers through the implantation of the most advanced handling and management technologies.

Sheremetyevo airport occupies leading positions in the ASQ ranking recent years. This leads to the conclusion that we have chosen technology leadership combining with traditional Russian hospitality in competition with other major airports. Our team working continuously to confirm the status of ‘Main Air Gates of Russia’. We are pleased to welcome national teams, fans and guests to visit 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia and start exciting journey from Sheremetyevo airport” — said Ilya Petrov.

Sheremetyevo airport has implemented a number of innovative projects aimed to improving the barrier-free environment, digital services development and flights punctuality improvement recent years. Sheremetyevo is building new facilities in preparation for 2018 FIFA World Cup: Terminal B, interterminal underrunway tunnel, cargo terminal and fueling station. The launch of these facilities will start a new stage in the history of Russia’s largest air hub. Sheremetyevo Airport combines the growing traffic volumes with the creation of a friendly, intellectual and festive atmosphere for the different categories of passengers.

Sheremetyevo International Airport has repeatedly led the ranking of the best airports in Europe by service quality since 2012. Sheremetyevo took second place in the ranking by results of 2016.
