In the course of flight tasks, the crews drilled searching and tracking a mock enemy’s submarine using radars and sonar aids, as well as receiving and analysing the information transmitted through them.
The ASW pilots eliminated a special underwater target imitating a submarine with bombs and torpedoes in an assigned area.
According to Colonel Igor Kireyev, Commanding Officer of the Pacific Fleet Air Force airbase, the flights were carried out by day and at night in various weather conditions using all the capabilities of ASW aircraft systems. According to the results of flight shifts, all crews successfully coped with their tasks.
The flight duration was more than five hours.
