According to Russia’s Air Traffic Control (ATC) record indicators of the intensity of the use of the airspace of the Russia were recorded in first three quarters, the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) reported.
From January to September, Russian and foreign airlines performed 1,155,234 flights, up 8.2% year-over-year (YOY), and up 3% than the same period of 2014, when the maximum intensity of flights was also noted.
Over the past nine months, airlines have made 594,428 international flights (up 13.7% YOY), including 208,609 transit flights (up 6.1% YOY). The number of domestic flights was 560,606 (up 2.8% YOY).
"In the third quarter, a record number of daily traffic intensity in the airspace of the Russian Federation was also recorded, characterizing the number of flights serviced by air traffic control services in 24 hours." On August 25, 2017, air traffic control authorities provided 5,363 flights, previously the maximum value was achieved in 2015 year - 5,172 flights a day", Rosaviatsia noted.
In September airlines in Russia and abroad performed 147,144 flights, up 9% YOY.
On international routes 74,802 flights were carried out, growth - 15.3%, of which 24,185 transit flights, growth - 5.9%.
On domestic routes, the airlines made 72,342 flights, up 3.3% YOY.
