Pilots of the Western MD fired more than 500 missiles and air bombs in course of training for the district stage of Aviadarts 2017. Pilots of Su-34 and Su-24 bombers, MiG-29SMT and Su-27 fighters, Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters from aviation bases located in the territory of 8 subjects of the Russian Federation will participate in the contest.

The piloting staff carried out more than 20 flights. The flight crews conducted flights at different altitudes over woody and grassy terrain.

In course of the scheduled flights, the personnel improved their in-air cooperation, piloting and navigation skills as well as practiced firing missiles, bombs, and guns against ground targets.
