Aeroflot recovers debts of Orenburg airlines and DONAVIA through court action

On January 23, PJSC Aeroflot - Russian Airlines brought three claims against JSC Orenburg airlines seeking to recover cash funds in the amount of RUB 12.569 billion under contracts, Aeroflot informed.

On the same day, Aeroflot raised a claim against JSC DONAVIA seeking to recover debt in the amount of RUB 884.015 million under a cash loan agreement.

These claims can entail bankruptcy of the said debtors, the statement points out.

JSC Orenburg airlines (tax number: 5638057840) is a Russian airline based at the airports of Orenburg and Moscow. The airline developed as an aviation enterprise in 1932 servicing the Moscow - Tashkent transit route. The airline fleet comprises 2 B737-400 aircraft, 20 B737-800 airliners and 3 B777-200ER planes. JSC Aeroflot - Russian Airlines owns 100% of the shares in Orenburg airlines. 

In January-April 2016, the passenger throughput of Orenburg airlines decreased by 18.8% year-on-year to 491,346.

According to AK&M Information Agency's DataCapital information retrieval system, RAS net profit of JSC Orenburg airlines for 2015 was RUB 506.396 million against a loss of RUB 6.547 billion the year before. Revenue increased by 17.45% to RUB 22.766 billion from RUB 19.383 billion, sales loss amounted to 3.22 times to RUB 1.723 billion from RUB 535.062 million, pre-tax profit was RUB 647.453 million against a loss of RUB 7.807 billion in 2014.

JSC DONAVIA (Rostov-on-Don, tax number: 6166041242) established on March 30, 2000 as JSC Aeroflot-Don is part of the Aeroflot group of companies and is based at the Rostov-on-Don airport. The company Is the largest airline in the south of Russia. 

JSC DONAVIA provides regular and charter air transportation services for passenger, cargoes and mail from the airports of Rostov-on-Don, Moscow, Mineralnye Vody, Sochi, Krasnodar to Russian and foreign cities. The airline is an active IATA member, included in the register of IOSA operators and constantly renews this certificate. DONAVIA's fleet consists of 10 Airbus A319 aircraft and one Boeing 737-400 airliner. 

In H1 2016, the passenger throughput of DONAVIA decreased 3.5 times year-on-year to 209,478.

According to AK&M Information Agency's DataCapital information retrieval system, RAS net loss of JSC DONAVIA for Q1 2015 was RUB 108.711 million against a profit of RUB 186.174 million the year before. Revenue increased by 3.96% to RUB 2.484 billion from RUB 2.389 billion, sales loss was RUB 158.924 million against a profit of RUB 170.937 million for the same period in 2014, loss before tax totaled RUB 130.894 million against a profit of RUB 234.431 million.

PJSC Aeroflot – Russian Airlines (tax number: 7712040126) is the largest Russian air carrier accounting for 39% of Russia's international and 11% of domestic air service market. The state owns a controlling interest in Aeroflot (51.17%). The company's fleet consists of Tu-134, Tu-154, IL-96, A319, A320, A321, A330, and B767 airliners.

In 2016, the passenger flow of PJSC Aeroflot - Russian Airlines grew by 11% year-on-year to 28.978 million.

IFRS net profit of Aeroflot Group for 9 months 2016 increased 23.99 times to RUB 43.798 billion from RUB 1.826 billion for the same period in 2015. Revenue increased by 23.2% to RUB 381.306 billion from RUB 309.51 billion, profit from operations by 81.82% to RUB 66.926 billion from RUB 36.808 billion, pre-tax profit 7.44 times to RUB 58.954 billion from RUB 7.92 billion. EBITDA increased by 61.3% to RUB 77.16 billion from RUB 47.846 billion, EBITDA margin by 4.7 p.p. to 20.2% from 15.5%. 

According to AK&M Information Agency's DataCapital information retrieval system, RAS net profit of Aeroflot for 9 months 2016 increased 5.99 times to RUB 42.85 billion from RUB 7.148 billion for the same period in 2015. Revenue increased by 20.22% to RUB 328.366 billion from RUB 273.14 billion, sales profit by 62.3% to RUB 22.355 billion from RUB 13.774 billion, pre-tax profit 5.19 times to RUB 55.165 billion from RUB 10.634 billion.
