Kazakhstan to receive a batch of Russian Mi-35Ms in 2018

The Russian Helicopters Holding, a part of the Rostec State Corporation, Russia, will supply four Mi-35M helicopters to the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan in 2018, Russian Helicopters informed Interfax-AVN on Wednesday.

“The contract was signed in the framework of the practical implementation of the agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstanon military-technical cooperation”, the Russian Helicopters’ Press-Service reported.

According to this source, delivery is focused to gradually replace the helicopter fleet of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan to modern designs.

Mi-35M is an upgraded version of the Mi-24 model. As compared to its predecessor, this helicopter features’ characteristics have enhanced performance and survival. In addition, the upgraded helicopter is able to perform tasks both in the daytime and at nights. The helicopter is designed to destroy armored vehicles, landing and fire support of Land Forces, evacuation of injured persons, as well as for transportation of cargo, having the total weight of up to 2,400 kilos, in the cabin or on the external load.
