Command-and-staff training on controlling air defence system and aviation units was held in the Eastern military district. An air defence division, an air defence missile fotmation, and aviation units, which had been located in the Zabaikalsky Krai, were involved in the training.

The servicemen practiced securing the airspace from 4 command centres as well as preventing breaching of the Russian air borders.

Aircraft crews conducted reconnaissance and elimination of air targets as well as practriced penetrating and suppressing air defence system of the simulated enemy.
