Russia’s Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Co. (SCAC) has appointed Kamil Gainutdinov as president for three years, effective Sept. 7, ATWonline reported.
He succeeds Ilya Tarasenko, who was appointed SCAC president on July 30, 2014; his three-year contract was terminated early to become general director of Russian Aircraft Corp. MiG, manufacturer of military aircraft.
From 2005, Gainutdinov was sales director for Russia at Boeing Commercial Aviation Services. In Moscow, he led a team that was responsible for sales and business development in the CIS countries and the Middle East. He was also in charge of cooperation between government agencies and industrial facilities. Later, at the Boeing Seattle headquarters he managed an international team responsible for sales and customer support.
Before that, he was employed by Russia’s UTair Aviation Co., where he coordinated helicopter service international sales and marketing and was in charge of the company’s helicopter fleet and corporate business planning.
