Nordavia has shelved plans to reposition itself as a budget carrier informed sources have told Russia's Aviation Explorer magazine.

The move coincides with the departure of airline General Director and transition mastermind, Vladimir Gorbunov, just four months after Nordavia was acquired by Sky Invest JSC from Norilsk Nickel.

According to the report, two of Sky Invest's three investors failed to agree on the way forward for Nordavia. As a result, the carrier will remain focused on the Northwest Russian market while still complementing sister carrier Red Wings (Russia) (WZ, Moscow Vnukovo) and its operations.
