UTair Increases Volume of Transported Passengers on Domestic Routes by 23%

UTair Aviation has announced the publication of operational results for August and the first 8 months of 2016.   

Fr om January to August 2016, the UTair fleet transported a total of 4,315,089 passengers, 13.7% more than for the same period in 2015. The total included 3,658,177 passengers on domestic routes, a 23% YoY increase. UTair passenger turnover reached 7,110,309 pkm. UTair passenger turnover on domestic routes increased 20.4% YoY and reached 5,569,437 pkm. Flight hours logged during flight operations increased 9.4% during the reporting period and reached 116,638 hours. Significant growth was recorded in the segment of cargo transportation. UTair transported 16,108 tones of cargo and mail for the first eight months of 2016, 54.2% more than for the same period last year.

The UTair fleet transported 746,382 passengers in August this year, 13.4% more than for the same period in 2015 with 13.1% more on domestic routes and 14.8% more on international routes. UTair passenger turnover increased 11.3% YoY and reached 1,268,111 pkm. UTair logged 18,209 flight hours for the reporting period, 8.3% more than for the same period in 2015. Seat occupancy increased 2.2% and reached 80.4%.

“In August UTair has maintained positive dynamics in key performance indicators by implementing an intensive seasonal program of flights to the resorts of the Black Sea coast from dozen of Russian cities to the most popular regional destinations,” said UTair – Passenger Airlines President Alexey Budnik. “In addition, last month UTair introduced new flights from Krasnodar to Sochi and St. Petersburg as well as resuming flights from Sochi to Yerevan. In the fall season UTair will continue its efforts to increase the management efficiency of its route network and its fleet and will offer new domestic and international destinations to the passengers.”
