Today, the flight tactic exercise of the Southern MD army aviation with combat firing has started in the Stavropol Krai under the leadership of the Air Force and air defence army Lieutenant General Viktor Sevostyanov.

About 600 military servicemen and more than 20 Mi-8AMTSh and Mi-35 helicopters are involved in the exercise.

The crews are to practice eliminating sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the simulated enemy and provide fire support to motorized rifle and tank units on offensive. In total, the pilots are to conduct about 50 flights.

The pilots will also practice stealth projecting and assault of a tactic airborne group, provide fire support to assault units, escort columns with military hardware, and other tasks at the Tarskoye range (North Ossetia).

The exercise will last until October 1.
