In accordance to the rearmament plan of the Southern MD troops, formations and military units of the 4th Air Force and Air defence army is to receive about 80 pieces of new armament and military hardware.

By the moment, the formations have received about 30 pieces of modern armament and hardware, including about 10 Mi-8AMTSh and Mi-8MTV5, and S-400 Triumph air defence missile complex. 

Aviation units of the Southern MD are to receive about 10 Su-30SM and Su-25SM, more than 20 Ka-52, Mi-28UB, Mi-26T, and Mi-8MTPR aircraft. Air defence formations and military units are to receive more than 20 pieces of modern hardware, including Pantsyr air defence complex and radiotechnical equipment.
