Aeroflot transfers 787 deal to Avia Capital Services

Russia’s Aeroflot Airline will transfer all rights and obligations under the contract for 22 Boeing 787s to Avia Capital Services leasing company. The decision was made by the carrier’s board of directors on Sept.8, ATWonline reported.

The Moscow Sheremetyevo-based airline placed an order with Boeing for 22 aircraft valued $3.6 billion in 2007.

Avia Capital Service is a 100% subsidiary of Russia’s state-owned Rostec Corp. It signed a leasing contract for 50 737NGswith Aeroflot in 2012.

Aeroflot Airline is a core carrier of Aeroflot Group that also includes consolidated regional subsidiary Rossiya Airlines, low-cost subsidiary Pobeda Airline and Far East-based subsidiary Aurora Airline. The group reported10.3% traffic growth in 1H to 19.7 million passengers. The group plans to carry 30 million passengers in 2016.
