Russian Antimonopoly Service finds "Pobeda" airline guilty of false advertisement

The Federal Antimonopoly Service’s (FAS) Moscow Directorate has found advertisement of "Pobeda" lowcoster airline misleading, announcement of the service reads on Friday.

According to the FAS, Russian citizen has filed an appeal with the Service against "Pobeda". Applicant claimed that the airline was distributing email advertisement, which stated that during special advertisement campaign tickets would be sold for one ruble, in addition to taxes and fees.

After buying a ticket, in accordance with all conditions set by advertisement campaign, applicant had to pay 2,999 rubles ($45), instead of one ruble.

The FAS noted that it asked "Pobeda" to provide information regarding amount of tickets sold during the campaign as well as information on date and time of the last tickets sold in this campaign. "Pobeda" was not able to provide such information within six months.
