A pair of Su-27 fighters of the Southern MD has performed a night interception of an aerial target which approached the state border within the unannounced combat readiness inspection.

The flight personnel carried out take-off from the operational airfield. The pilots received coordinates of the target in the air.

Approaching the target, the crews of Su-27 fighters detected the “intruder”. It turned out to be a Tu-142 aircraft of the naval aviation of the Russian Navy, its identification means were turned off.

After getting in touch with the violator, the fighters showed their presence with light signals and forced the aircraft to change the course.

After the mission was accomplished, both Su-27 returned to base.
