The portfolio of foreign orders placed with Russia’s MiG Aircraft-Manufacturing Corporation exceeded $5 billion in early 2016, Russia’s United Aircraft-Manufacturing Corporation told TASS.

"As of early 2016, the MiG Corporation’s foreign order book exceeded $5 billion," the corporation said.

The corporation noted the contribution made by MiG Corporation CEO Sergei Korotkov to the development of military and technical cooperation, the establishment of stable and trust relations with the leaders of countries that are main operators of Russian-made aircraft, including India.

Korotkov said in late 2015 that the number of export contracts signed with the corporation in 2015 had grown by 39% year-on-year. As of August 2015, the corporation’s order book equaled about $4 billion.

The MiG Aircraft-Manufacturing Corporation is the producer of advanced multipurpose fighter jets, including planes of the standardized Mikoyan MiG-29K/KUB (NATO reporting name: Fulcrum-D) family, as well as MiG-29M/M2 (Fulcrum) and advanced MiG-35/35D (Fulcrum-F) aircraft, training equipment, as well as light general-purpose planes.
