Samara’s Aviaagregat – a member of Rostec’s Technodinamika – phased in a honing machine, received under a federal earmark. The new equipment will perform mechanical polishing on the inside of cylinders that comprise the backbone of hydraulic actuators. It is endowed with a high processing speed due to the numerical control (NC); achieves high-precision positioning and outstanding reliability through having only quality mechanical and electronic components.

The equipment can be used to process hydraulic actuator parts of almost the whole range of the aviation (IL-76MD-90A, IL-96, Yak-152, Ka-62, etc.) and other products, manufactured at the facility.

“Now that we have the new honing machine, featuring NC, the processing becomes automated, reducing the impact of the human factor. Moreover, the machine comes with a set of accessories, a kit of guides, to cut down on the time spent to manufacture production items, thus increasing the performance and bringing down the production cost. There is an automatic system for cooling liquid supply keeping the surfaces of items subjected to processing,” Deputy CEO for Production, Technologies and Quality in Technodinamika Alexander Kosov comments.

Aviaagregat’s upgrade funds through 2018 amount to 1 bln RUR. The project splits into two stages. The first stage’s goal is to upgrade the equipment in the machining shops through the purchase of milling and lathe machines, multipurpose machining centers, as well as high velocity oxy-fuel spray process (HVOF) gear. The next stage will be all about metallurgic improvements and include the purchase of vacuum furnaces, climatic chambers, spectrometer, inspection machine, as well as a second electron-beam welder. The upgrade project will contribute to the overall performance in conditions of growing production rate of a wide range of items manufactured in limited quantity.
