The Minister of Emergency Situations Vladimir Puchkov is today on working trip around Central Federal District, during which he is going to visit Ivanovo and Vladimir Regions.

At the airport the Minister was welcomed by Governor of Ivanovo Region Pavel Konkov. On his arrival the Minister noted that Ivanovo Region was developing dynamically, adopting new modern approaches in economy, building bridges, roads and businesses. “Today Ivanovo Region implements new modern approaches introducing an integrated human safety system, developing emergency services and implementing the Safe City project,” the Minister said.

On his visit Mr. Puchkov gave equipment, including KamAZ tank trucks with rescue tools.

“The Emergency Ministry is adopting a new format of efficient cooperation with regional executive authorities within the Single State Disaster Management System. Each day fire and rescue units get more modern and efficient equipment. Our aim is to provide high-quality state service in fire safety on a new level,” added the Minister.

According to him, in addition to firefighting and rescue equipment the Emergency Ministry gets robotics and UAVs. Special focus is made on technical development of both the National Crisis Management Center and its regional branches which are now being equipped with 3D-modelling, IT and satellite monitoring systems. The Minister also said that the Ivanovo Region Crisis Management Center would be re-equipped this year.

“The Ministry keeps on developing the fire response, fire and rescue garrisons and improving their equipment,” Mr. Puchkov added.

The Minister noted high level of preparedness of Ivanovo Region rescuers and firefighters to respond to emergency situations and work under complex conditions and thanked them for their service and commitment.

“The contribution of Emergency Ministry workers in ensuring protection of people against fires and emergency situations can hardly be overrated. The Ivanovo firemen have prevented a huge number of accidents and saved dozens of thousands of lives during millions of hours on duty. Human lives depend on their speed and professionalism,” the Minister said.

Mr. Puchkov awarded the most distinguished firefighters and gave a present to the cadet class.

“All tasks of emergency management, fire and water safety are handled on the highest level ibn Ivanovo Region,” the Minister concluded.
