Thanks to professional actions of pilots of the Emergencies Ministry one more settlement in continental Portugal has been defended against wildfire – Aldeia Nova.

In total, aircraft of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia carried out 48 dumps of water with total amount of 552 tons, put out 7 fires on a total square of 1,100 hectares, as well as defended against fires two national parks and four settlements.

Two Beriev Be-200ChS amphibian planes of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia arrived to Portugal on 13 August. The team of Emergencies Ministry consists of the most experienced pilots, which have the great experience in putting out of fires in the most adverse conditions.

Due to actions of the aircraft group, which includes planes of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia the wildfire situation significantly got better over the past days and the number of fires dramatically dropped.
