Employees of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia use UAVs to control fire situation in Volgograd Region. If there is a fire, the information is immediately transferred to the fire stations, which will dispatch to mitigate a fire in given coordinates.

A special firefighting mode is engaged in the Southern Regional Center due to hot and dries weather.  The Emergencies Ministry of Russia in cooperation with local administration, forestry and policy carry out preventive efforts. Air reconnaissance is carried out to detect fires on early stages and immediately dispatch fire and rescue units to mitigate the fire.

The regional branch of the Emergencies Ministry has helicopter and plane-type UAVs at its disposal.

A fire was detected during the first flight of a UAV. Trash and dry grass caught fire. Fire and rescue unit immediately arrived to put out the fire. In matter of minutes fire was taken under control and put out.

Such measures are going to be taken by the Emergencies Ministry of Russia within whole fire season.
