A MiG-29KR fighter jet from the Northern Fleet’s 100th Separate Shipborne Fighter Air Regiment has landed on the aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov’s deck for the first time, a source in Russia’s defense and industrial sector said. "A shipborne multipurpose fighter jet of the 100th Separate Shipborne Fighter Air Regiment landed on the aircraft carrier’s deck for the first time. The plane was operated by the regiment’s commander," the source said.
"The aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov will return to the 35th shipyard approximately after August 15 to undergo the second stage of its maintenance and technical readiness restoration," the source said. The plane seems to have performed a flight without weapons and external fuel tanks. According to data of public sources, the 100th Separate Shipborne Fighter Air Regiment operates 20 MiG-29K (Version 9-41R) single-seat fighter jets (30 blue - 49 blue) and four MiG-29KUB (Version 9-47R) two-seat fighter jets (50 blue - 53 blue). |
