The airmobile team of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia has fulfilled all tasks aimed at mitigation of deer murrain in the Yar-Sale tundra. All efforts aimed at decontamination of the quarantine zone and all necessary measures aimed at provision of aid to the native population of Yamal tundra have been fully complete.
“As of today all requests made by administration of the region concerning the contamination of deer-breeders and deployment of the temporary settlements were fully met. Now we refresh the personnel in order to provide preparedness for further action”, said the Director of the Department for Fire and Rescue Forces and Special Units of Emergencies Ministry of Russia Aleksandr Agafonov.

The task group of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia, special units of the Leader Center for High Risk Rescue Operations and the Ural Training and Rescue Center of the Emergencies Ministry with necessary equipment, as well as the group of analysts of the Antistikia All-Russian Center for Monitoring and Forecasting and the All-Russian Research Institute of Civil Defence and Emergency Situations of the Emergencies Ministry, located on the Obskaya Station of Sosnogorsk District are engaged into rendering of aid to the evacuated population in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area work since 5 August in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area in order to render aid to the evacuated population.

10 temporary settlements, capable of accommodation of 350 people were deployed by the Emergencies Ministry. Every settlements has large tents with everything necessary: beds, stoves, linen and means of personal hygiene. Upon arrival to the “safe zone”, every person has to undertake the medical checkup and sanitation procedure. This procedure is carried out in a special station of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia.
Emergencies Ministry’s Mil Mi-26 and Mi-8 helicopters delivered necessary cargo from the town of Salekhard to the settlement of Yar-Sale on a daily basis. Every family hit by the deer murrain is provided with humanitarian aid: foodstuffs, clothes, means of personal hygiene and necessary materials for building of a temporary house.
460 people and 60 units of equipment, including 99 people and 8 units of equipment provided the Emergencies Ministry of Russia are involved into mitigation of the emergency situation.
