The families of each of the ten members of the Russian emergencies ministry’s Ilyushin Il-76 plane that crashed during a firefighting mission in Russia’s Siberian Irkutsk region will be paid 1.7 million roubles (about 26,600 U.S. dollars) in insurance indemnity and one million rubles (15,650 U.S. dollars) from the Russian emergencies ministry, Minister Vladimir Puchkov said on Sunday.

"The crew had insurance policies. The insurance company has confirmed its readiness to pay an indemnity of 1.7 rubles to families of each of the crew members," he said.

Apart from that, each family will be paid one million rubles from the Russian emergencies ministry, he said.

The Il-76 plane of the Russian emergencies ministry, which took part in extinguishing a wildfire in the Irkutsk region, disappeared from radars in July 1. The plane was spotted lying on a hill slope some four kilometers south of the settlement of Rybny Uyan in the small hours on Sunday. The entire crew of ten died.
