Singapore Airlines will replace its fifth freedom Singapore-Moscow DME-Houston service with Singapore-Manchester-Houston, ATWonline reported.
The Singapore Changi-based carrier starts 5X-weekly Boeing 777-300ER Singapore-Manchester service that continues to Houston from Oct. 30. The carrier will continue to perform 4X-weekly 777-300ER Singapore-Moscow service. It will cease Munich-Manchester service, though the direct Singapore-Munich 777-300ER flight will remain.
Singapore Airlines launched 777-300ER Singapore-Moscow-Houston on March 20, 2008. The airline performed 4X-weekly flights during winter seasons, 5X-weekly in summer. The carrier does not explain the decision, but ATW understands it could be made because of international traffic decreases in Russia. At the same time Manchester Airport showed reasonable growth in the UK during the last few years.
