Turkey submits report to Russia on safety measures taken to resume charter flights

Turkey has submitted report to Russia on safety measures it has taken to resume charter flights, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Simsek said at talks with his Russian counterpart Arkady Dvorkovich on Tuesday.

"As far as I know, the Turkish side has already taken the necessary safety measures for resuming charter flights between our countries. These measures have been brought to your knowledge," he said.

Earlier, the Russian Transport Ministry sent to Turkey its general position on aviation security issues for taking a decision on resuming charter flights to Turkey.

To resume charter flights to Turkey, the Russian government should take a corresponding decision. The permission to perform charter flights after the document’s adoption will be issued by the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya), the Transport Ministry said earlier. According to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, the government expects Turkey to provide security guarantees, after which will take a decision on the resumption of charter flights.
