Russian Progress MS-03 space freighter on resupply run was launched to the International Space Station aboard Soyuz carrier rocket from the Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan, a spokesperson for the Russian space agency Roscosmos said Saturday.

He added that the spacecraft was expected to dock the International Space Station at 3:22 Moscow time (00:22 GMT) on July 19.

"The launch of Soyuz with Progress MS-03 was carried out according to the schedule," the spokesperson told RIA Novosti.

The freighter will deliver over 2.4 metric tonnes of food and equipment to the station.
