The Russian Championship on parachuting athletic multisport was held at Vatulino airfield in the town of Ruza, Moscow Region from 7 to 11 July.
Employee of the Ural Regional Center of the Emergency Ministry, junior sergeant of internal service Ilya Toporkov won the title of the all-round champion of Russia and passed the qualification test for the master of sports of Russia.
Ilya Toporkov started his service as a fireman at the 55th fire and rescue station in the town of Nizhny Tagil in April 2016. He made his first jumps in January 2012 at the town parachuting competition dedicated to the memory of V.A. Frantsev at Byngi airfield and came first.
He got 1st grade in parachuting in 2014 at the Russian Parachute Athletic Multisport Cup in the town of Menzelinsk where he was 20th and got his candidacy to a master of sport during the open Championship in the town of Ruza in 2015.
Ilya also won 1st place in dotted landing as a team at the Russian cup in the town of Rybinsk in June 2015, 2nd place in parachuting athletic multisport in 2015 at the All-Russian Parachuting Competition for the Cup of the Mayor in Uvat District.
Parachuting athletic multisport has been present in Russia for almost 40 years now. In 1970, defense associations of socialist countries decided to hold competition involving precise parachute landing, shooting from a small-caliber rifle, freestyle swimming and a cross-country race.
