Russian Air Transport Group Volga-Dnepr Agrees to Buy 20 Boeing Freighters

Russian Volga-Dnepr Group signed a deal with Boeing on Tuesday to buy 20 freighters, the US aircraft-maker said in a statement.

Volga-Dnepr Group, the world leader in transportation of unique and outsize cargo, signed a deal with Boeing on Tuesday to buy 20 freighters, the US aircraft-maker said in a statement.

The terms of the deal for the sale of four-engine 747-8 Freighters were finalized at Farnborough International Airshow underway in Hampshire, England. Four aircraft have already been delivered.

Boeing will also provide logistics support to the group’s subsidiaries, AirBridgeCargo Airlines and Atran Airlines. The new planes will replace its fleet of the Boeing 747-400 family.

The Russian company, which is a leading carrier of aerospace cargo, is operating a variety of Boeing 747s, Antonov An-124-100s and Ilyushin Il-76TD-90VDs.
