Emergency Ministry jet delivers 50 more citizens of Armenia from Beslan to Yerevan

An Emergency Ministry Antonov An-148 plane has successfully flown 50 more citizens of Armenia from the town of Beslan, North Ossetia-Alania to the city of Yerevan.

This is the second flight delivering citizens of Armenia trapped in North Ossetia-Alania by a rockslide that hit the Military Georgian motorway.

During the flight the passengers were accompanied by medical specialists, officials of the International Cooperation Department and the National Crisis Management Center of the Emergency Ministry.

The flights transporting 96 citizens of Armenia, including 22 children were carried out under the Agreement between the Russian Government and Government of Armenia as no traffic is now allowed on the Military Georgian motorway because of a rockslide that happened in Georgia on 23 June. The disaster blocked over 200 trucks, 40 cars and 225 people in them.

Psychologists of the Emergency Ministry are attending to the traffic jam. There are mobile posts of traffic police and the Disaster Medicine Center. The administration of the Vladikavkaz are arranging for hot meals and drinking water to be provided.

The forces of the airmobile team of the North Ossetia-Alania Directorate of the Emergency Ministry have deployed essential camps which have tents where people can eat, have rest in beds, be registered, get psychological and medical attention, there are additional bio toilets and bath units, and a mobile station for attending to foreign citizens.
